Bryan Oviedo joined Sunderland in January 2017.
Ross told The Shields Gazette about Oviedo: “The Bryan situation has been fairly consistent in that his application to what we’ve been doing here is evident. At no point has he ever expressed a desire to leave.”
The Sunderland boss added: “Things can change very quickly, but there’s nothing on the horizon at the moment so all being well he’ll be with me for Saturday and beyond.”
Positive for Sunderland fans
Oviedo is one of the best players on the books of Sunderland and is a very experienced footballer.
The 28-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-midfielder, has been playing well for the Black Cats in League One recentlt.
While the Costa Rica international is clearly too good for League One, having him in the team for the 2018-19 campaign is going to make Sunderland a formidable side.
Oviedo, who joined Sunderland from Everton in January 2017, scored two goals and provided four assists in 31 starts in the Championship for Sunderland last season, according to WhoScored.
Sunderland are second in the League One table at the moment with 13 points from five matches, just two points behind leaders Peterborough United.
The Black Cats are aiming to clinch automatic promotion back to the Championship.
