Celtic may have been linked with Hibernian striker Kevin Nisbet, but Jack Ross has made it clear that no deal is imminent by any stretch of the imagination.
The Bhoys somehow still have Odsonne Edouard at the club, but they are still in the market for a new striker before the transfer deadline.
Thomas Henry and Giorgos Giakoumakis have both been linked, but there could be an option closer to home if rumours are to be believed.
On Saturday, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was asked about a potential swap deal involving Leigh Griffiths and Hibs hitman Nisbet.
Postecoglou suggested that the idea was ‘in the basket of uncertainty’ beyond his control with people above him working on Celtic signings.
The rumour appears to have emerged from PLZ Soccer’s Peter Martin, and everything has gone into overdrive today.
Nisbet was omitted from the Hibernian squad to face Dundee today, with Hibernian stating that he was out with an illness.
Some Celtic fans thought that was rubbish, instead believing that this was a cover for Nisbet being on his way to Parkhead in the near future.

Hibs boss Jack Ross has laughed off those suggestions, telling BBC Sport that the rumours are ‘nonsense’ and the ‘terrific’ Nisbet will be staying at Easter Road having held no talks at all with Celtic about a deal.
“I wouldn’t say he was unwell if he wasn’t, because he is,” said Ross. “Second of all I, was really surprised when I started to get messages and calls about the story that broke because, as far as I’m concerned at this moment in time, it’s nonsense, a complete fabrication.”
“He’s a terrific player and been brilliant for me. People might think it might happen in the future, but at this moment in time there’s never been one single conversation or discussion around it [Celtic move],” he added.
