Sunderland defender Denver Hume has been promoted into the first-team by Jack Ross.

Hume has been promoted from Sunderland’s youth team into the senior squad this season, and has racked up five appearances to date.
The full-back was selected ahead of the far more experience Bryan Oviedo in Sunderland’s most recent match against Rochdale and he impressed.
Hume helped Sunderland pick up a 4-1 win at the Stadium of Light.
And Ross said: “Every time Denver has played this season, he’s been good.
“I don’t think anybody can argue with that.
“It’s just up to him to keep taking the opportunities, and I thought he did that against Rochdale.”

From Ross’ comments it seems that Hume will keep his place in Sunderland’s line-up for the coming weeks.
That could put Oviedo’s future at Sunderland in doubt, given that the Costa Rican is one of their higher earners.
Sunderland’s win over Rochdale elevated them into third place in the League One table.
The Black Cats are next in action at the weekend, when they are on Coventry City.
