Jack Baldwin joined Jack Ross’s Sunderland in the summer transfer window.

Baldwin, who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder, joined Sunderland from League One rivals Peterborough United in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Sunderland Echo to be worth £200,000.
The 25-year-old has featured in five League One matches for the Black Cats so far this season, according to Transfermarkt.com, and is playing quite well at the moment.
Sunderland manager Ross has been pleased with the displays produced by Baldwin so far this season, but he has underlined where the versatile player needs to improve.
Ross told The Chronicle about Baldwin: “At his age I think he can still grow and improve and reach a level beyond the level he’s playing at just now.”
The Sunderland manager added: “He can physically get stronger but his willingness and his desire to want to do well here and learn and get better, how humble he is about it and how much he appreciates the opportunity of playing in this stadium, how he works every day on the training ground is refreshing.”

Going strong
Sunderland are playing in League One this season after getting relegated from the Championship at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
The Black Cats are going strong in the division and are aiming to clinch automatic promotion back to the second tier of English football.
Ross’s side are fourth in the League One table at the moment with 15 points from seven matches, four points behind leaders Peterborough.
