Sunderland will sign a left-back in the summer transfer window, says Jack Ross.

According to The Chronicle, Sunderland are determined to secure the services of a new left-back to provide competition for Denver Hume.
Ross has said that he is confident that he will have a new left-back in his team by next week, and has also suggested that things could progress in the next couple of days.
Ross told The Chronicle: “We are juggling a few balls in the air at the moment but over the next couple of days we will find a solution to that particular problem.
“We will certainly have one in before the end of the window. It’s just been challenging for us for loads of different reasons.”

Positive transfer update
Hume is the only specialist left-back in the current Sunderland squad, and the Black Cats do desperately need a new player in that position.
The Black Cats are aiming to finish in the top two of the League One table this season, and they have to increase competition in the left-back area.
Sunderland are fourth in the League One table at the moment with 11 points from five matches, level on points with leaders Ipswich Town.
