Sunderland attacker Duncan Watmore has had a torrid time with injury in recent years.

Watmore has had an awful time with injuries over the past few years, but looked to be getting back to full fitness recently.
Watmore had played for Sunderland on opening day against Oxford United as a substitute, but then damaged his thigh.
The 25-year-old had just returned to Sunderland training recently, but he has picked up yet another injury.
And Ross said: “He’s frustrated because he’s had this thigh injury, but he was able to train at the start of (last) week and looked good,” said Ross. “But he just felt uncomfortable after training (last) Tuesday.
“I’d imagine he’ll miss the next two to three weeks again at least, and then we’ll go from there. It’s difficult for him because it’s been very stop-start for him for a long time.”
Watmore picked up a knee injury back in 2016, and ever since then the Sunderland forward has struggled to put together a run of games.

Watmore has played fewer than 20 times in the league over last three years, despite showing plenty of promise as a youngster.
There are serious concerns about his injury record now, with Ross simply unable to rely on the academy graduate being fit.
If Watmore does miss three weeks’ worth of action, then he could return for Sunderland’s match against MK Dons at the Stadium of Light at the end of the month.
