Jack Ross has told the Sunderland Echo that Sunderland’s dressing room always falls quiet when they fail to win this season.

Sunderland have made a bright start to their League One campaign, and are competing at the top end of the division for the first time in years.

The Black Cats have the pressure of being the biggest club in League One though.

And Sunderland’s players know the expectation that is put on them before every game this season.

“I’ve said it to the players, when we don’t win, it’s always quiet [in the dressing room] and that is just because of the expectation at the club,” Ross said.

“There’s nothing wrong with that, but I’ve got to keep that positivity.”

Sunderland face arguably their biggest game of the season so far this evening, when they take on Peterborough United.

Posh are currently ahead of Sunderland in the league table, with both sides appearing to be among the leading contenders for promotion this season.

Sunderland go into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Coventry, while Peterborough also could only manage to pick up a point at the weekend, when they took on Blackpool.
