Sunderland defender Alim Ozturk has been unable to break into Jack Ross’ side to date.

Sunderland brought in Ozturk over the summer transfer window, but he has initially struggled.
The Turkish defender has failed to break into Sunderland’s first-team, and often sat on the bench.
However, Ozturk made a late appearance for Sunderland in their last match against Bradford City, and helped them pick up the three points.
And Ross says he has sat the centre-back down to talk to him about helping the side out.
“I had a conversation with him after the Bradford game, to say how pleased I was that he had made a contribution,” Ross said.
“I spoke to him at the end of last week, I know Alim from having worked with him before and his temperament is good.

“He’s a good character, he’s got no issues. Obviously he wants to play but he knows he has to be patient and take his opportunities when they come up.”
Ozturk still has work to do if he is to break into Sunderland’s starting line-up, as competition is fierce.
Ozturk looks to be behind Glenn Loovens, Jack Baldwin and Tom Flanagan in the race for places at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland are next in action after the international break, when they take on Shrewsbury Town.
