Leeds United, Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday are all said to be on the hunt to add Jack Marriott.

Jack Marriott would be best off picking Leeds United over Nottingham Forest and Sheffield Wednesday, if the trio of clubs go in for him in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Mail claim that Leeds, Forest and Wednesday are all in the race to sign the Peterborough United striker.

Posh have slapped a £5 million price tag on the forward, who is the top scorer in the entire Football League this season.

Whether Leeds would be prepared to pay that sort of fee for a striker who has no track record of scoring in the Championship remains to be seen.

However, if Marriott does have the choice between Leeds, Forest and Wednedsay, then he should pick to move to Elland Road.

Marriott could have all the credentials required to become a legend at Leeds, if he did make the switch to the Yorkshire side.

Leeds fans have been crying out for a goalscorer this season, and Marriott certainly fills that criteria.

The 23-year-old forward has hit a staggering 32 goals for Posh already this term, with his work-rate and finishing ability catching the eye.

Marriott’s tireless approach would endear himself to an Elland Road crowd, which has been crying out for more passion from their team.

And there are other reasons why a Leeds move should appeal.

Not only do Leeds play the most attacking football of the sides linked – they have outscored either Forest or Wednesday this season – but Marriott also has a clear route into the Whites’ first-team, and Paul Heckingbottom has a good track record at developing talent.

There is some question marks over whether Heckingbottom is the right man for Leeds, but during his time at Barnsley he proved himself to be a fine training ground coach.

And Marriott would be wise to pick Leeds, as they look like the best option for him right now.
