Aston Villa have been strongly linked with a move for Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott in recent times.

Jack Marriott could have a golden opportunity to impress potential suitors Aston Villa at the weekend.
Marriott is set to start for Peterborough United in their FA Cup clash at Villa Park against Steve Bruce’s side, and claret and blues fans are sure to have an eye on the prolific striker.

The Daily Mail have suggested that Villa are keen to sign Marriott, who has impressed their scouts.
Posh are believed to be looking for around £5 million for the striker, who has enjoyed a remarkable rise since signing from Luton Town six months ago.
Marriott’s pace has been too much for defenders at League One level to cope with, and the 23-year-old has netted 21 goals to date.

Marriott has only a handful of Championship appearances to his name to date, but will be able to test himself out against Villa’s defence on Saturday.
And if Marriott does impress, then it may just help to convince Villa to firm up their interest in the Football League’s top scorer, and submit a formal offer.
