Leeds United and Aston Villa are both said to be keen to sign Peterborough United’s Jack Marriott.

The Sun claim that Villa are monitoring Marriott, while the Peterborough Evening Telegraph suggest that Leeds are interested.
Marriott is the Football League’s leading marksmen, after netting 21 goals already this term, and his form is attracting attention.

However, Marriott insists that although he has heard about the links to both Villa and Leeds, he is focused on helping Posh up the divisions.
“A few of the lads mentioned I’d been linked with other clubs but I’ve just got to concentrate on myself and the team,” Marriott said. “Promotion, that’s key. We’ve the squad to do it.”
Posh are currently in sixth place in the League One table, after putting together a strong run of form recently.

Grant McCann’s side beat Bradford City on their last outing, with Marriott getting on the scoresheet twice.
There are some doubts over whether Villa would be able to fund a deal for Marriott, who would likely command a big fee, but Leeds do have money to invest.
Thomas Christiansen is known to want additions in the January window, and Marriott may now be near the top of his wishlist, as Leeds aim for a return to the Premier League.
