Dundee defender Jack Hendry was under the microscope on Wednesday night – and he couldn’t stop his side from losing 1-0 at home to Hibernian.

Hendry, 22, left Wigan Athletic to join Dundee last summer, and he has impressed at Dens Park, becoming one of the top young talents in Scottish football, attracting major interest as a result.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that a host of clubs were set to watch Hendry in action against Hibernian on Wednesday night, with Premier League quartet Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and West Ham United all scouting him.

Scottish duo Celtic and Rangers are also believing to have watched Hendry against Hibernian, amid claims that the Bhoys have failed with a £500,000 bid for the centre back.

It’s stated that Dundee have slapped a £1.5million asking price on Hendry, and will hope to keep hold of their prized asset beyond Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

On Wednesday night, Hendry tasted defeat as John McGinn’s goal handed Hibernian all three points, and the defender was also booked in front of the scouts.

It remains to be seen whether the likes of Celtic, Rangers, Newcastle or West Ham press ahead with their interest in Hendry before the transfer deadline, or whether they will need to keep scouting him over the coming months ahead of the summer window.
