Leeds United's Jack Harrison applauds the fans when they consoled him after missing his penalty during the Carabao Cup Second Round match between Leeds United and Stoke City at Elland Road...

Leeds United winger Jack Harrison was the fall guy when the Whites lost on penalties to Stoke City on Tuesday night.

Leeds were beaten 5-4 in the shootout, after clawing back from two goals down to draw 2-2 in the Carabao Cup second round tie.

Manchester City winger Harrison was shown support from his teammates after the game, and has felt the positivity from supporters too.

Last night Harrison sent a message to fans thanking them for their uplifting messages.

Harrison has come a long way in a few months, when at the start of the year Leeds fans were puzzled by Marcelo Bielsa’s persistent faith in him.

He has resisted the challenge for his place from Jack Clarke, and his assist in the play-off semi-final first leg was a moment he has not looked back from.

Harrison is playing with confidence, and his message shows that he does not intend on letting the bad luck of a penalty shootout derail his progress.
