Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish and Arsenal man Joe Willock have praised Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips on Instagram.
Grealish believes that Leeds midfielder Phillips was “unreal” for England in their 1-0 win against Croatia in Euro 2020 today.
Midfielder Willock, who spent the second half of the past season on loan at Newcastle United from Arsenal, also believes that the 25-year-old was “unreal” at Wembley Stadium.
Phillips was arguably the best player on the pitch at Wembley Stadium today.
The 25-year-old was sensational for the Three Lions in the middle of the park.
The midfielder held his own in the middle of the park and did not look out of place at all playing alongside some big name-players, such as Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane and Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling.
Interestingly, Phillips was allowed to play a bit higher up the pitch than he normally does for Leeds.
It helped the 25-year-old provide the assist for Sterling’s goal in the second half.
Phillips took one shot which was on target, played one key pass, had a pass accuracy of 93.9%, took 44 touches, attempted two dribbles, and made one tackle and one interception.
