Fabrizio Romano has claimed live on Sky Sports News today (12:09pm, August 2, 2021) that if Manchester City do not sign Jack Grealish this week, then the attacking midfielder will put pen to paper on a new contract with Dean Smith’s Aston Villa.
Transfer Twist
The Telegraph reported last week that City have made a bid of £100 million for Villa star Grealish.
90min then claimed over the weekend that Villa have decided to accept the offer and have told Grealish and his representatives that he is free to hold talks with the Premier League champions.
And now, well-known and well-respected journalist Romano is reporting that if City do not sign Grealish this week, then the England international is ready to sign a new contract with Villa.
The Villans are ready to pay the 25-year-old £200,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star.
Romano said on Sky Sports News today (12:09pm, August 2, 2021): “The situation on this one is really particular because, to be honest, I am told that this week it has to be decided.
“If Manchester City are not signing Jack Grealish this week, he is prepared to sign a new deal with Aston Villa, so timing will be very important.”

Could Jack Grealish stay at Aston Villa?
Grealish has returned from his holiday and is actually training with his Villa teammates, unlike Harry Kane at Tottenham Hotspur.
It shows that the England international is not going to force a move away and will stay committed to Villa even if a transfer deal does not happen.
This is very encouraging indeed for Villa.
Maybe, just maybe, Grealish will remain a Villa player even after the summer transfer window closes.
