Jack Grealish has told Aston Villa’s new signing Kortney Hause that he is looking forward to playing with him again after he joined the club from Wolves.

Villa announced on their official website on Monday evening that the 23-year-old centre-back has joined the Championship side on loan with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the season.

Hause will add much-needed balance and depth to Villa’s backline as they aim for promotion to the Premier League under Dean Smith.

Both Hause and Grealish represented England’s U21’s and will now be teammates at club level as the Villa playmaker sent this message on his personal Twitter account following the confirmed deal:

Villa are currently sitting outside of the play-off places in the Championship and were recently knocked out of the FA Cup by Swansea City.

Over the course of the campaign, under Steve Bruce and Smith, the likes of James Chester, Tommy Elphick, Mile Jedinak, James Bree and Axel Tuanzebe have played at the heart of the club’s defence.

For the majority, the promotion-chasing outfit have struggled with depth, quality and balance in that area which has resulted in them conceding 40 goals in the league this season – two fewer than what they shipped last term.

Nonetheless, Hause will be looking to make his mark on his new side with Villa travelling to Wigan Athletic on Saturday as they aim to close the five-point gap on the top-six.
