Aston Villa signed 12 players this summer following their promotion to the Premier League.

Jack Grealish has stated on Instagram that John McGinn deserves his new contract with Aston Villa, whilst he wished Birkir Bjarnason well after he left the club.
On Deadline Day, Villa confirmed on their official website that McGinn has penned a new five-year contract at the newly-promoted club.
Following Villa’s promotion to the Premier League, McGinn was amazingly touted for a move to Manchester United, with a price of £50 million seemingly put on his head, as reported by The Sun.
But now, he has squashed any possibility, if there was any, of him moving on, as the popular Villa figure pledged his long-term future to the club.
Whilst, McGinn was signing a new contract, fellow midfielder Bjarnason agreed to mutually terminate his contract, as posted on Villa’s official Twitter account.
Nonetheless, Grealish took to his personal Instagram to react to McGinn’s new deal and Bjarnason’s surprise departure.

Villa will now be preparing for their Premier League opener on the weekend as they take on Champions League finalists Tottenham Hotspur.
More than likely, both McGinn and Grealish will start the encounter as they will be looking to make their mark on England’s top-flight.
If Villa are to have a successful campaign then Grealish and McGinn’s performances in the middle of the park will be very, very crucial.
