Manchester City winger Jack Grealish has revealed what he believes separates Pep Guardiola from any other manager in the Premier League.
Under Pep Guardiola’s tutelage, Manchester City have romped to their fourth straight Premier League title after a comfortable win over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.
Since moving to England, Guardiola has only failed to win the league title twice since 2016, which is an extraordinary feat. City won the treble last season becoming only the second English side to do so in the modern era after Manchester United did it in 1999.
Since Jack Grealish joined City in the summer of 2021, the Englishman has won multiple league titles and the UEFA Champions League crown to boot. The winger has now opened up about what sets Guardiola apart.

Grealish on Guardiola
Speaking to talkSPORT ahead of this summer’s European Championship’s in Germany, the former Aston Villa winger was keen to praise the Spaniard and revealed what set him apart from the rest.
“He’s quite intense as you’ve probably seen,” Grealish explained. “I think that was on a few of the clips, but sometimes I find that he goes more mad if we’ve played well, whereas if we haven’t played well then he wants to give us a bit of loving.
“He’s an unbelievable manager. There have been times this year where I’ve struggled off the pitch with my own stuff, I’ll openly say that, and he’s been there for me in his office. A few times I’ve been out for food with him and he’s been unbelievable.
“He’s a great manager and in my opinion he’s easily the best ever, but more than anything, he’s a really good person. He has a big heart and I thank him for that this season.”
Grealish was a star of City’s iconic treble-winning campaign of 2022/23 but suffered numerous setbacks during the 2023/24 season, including injury problems and loss of form.
Guardiola’s impact
The Spaniard has made a superb impact in English football, winning six league titles, multiple Carabao Cups and FA Cups and the Champions League last season. However, the impact he has made on his players is perhaps even more impressive.
“He’s one of the best coaches of all time. It was an achievement for me to play for him, to train under him, being able to learn is amazing,” former City player Ilkay Gundogan said.
Bernardo Silva agreed with Gundogan and said: “When you have the opportunity to be trained by Guardiola, you don’t say no.”
Guardiola continues to revolutionise English football and he is not stopping yet and is bidding for his fifth Premier League title in a row next season.
