Jack Grealish has told Aston Villa fans on Twitter that he is due back from injury very soon.

The 22-year-old midfielder hasn’t kicked a ball for the Villans this season after suffering a kidney injury following a collision with Tom Cleverley in a friendly during the summer.

Grealish is one of Aston Villa’s biggest assets and you wonder whether Steve Bruce’s side – who sit 13th in the Championship – would have enjoyed a better start to the campaign had the midfield dynamo been available for his boyhood club.

Jack Grealish of Aston Villa goes off injured in the 1st half during the pre season friendly match between Aston Villa and Watford at Villa Park on July 29, 2017 in Birmingham, England.

Nevertheless, the man himself has excited fans of the West Midlands club on Twitter by revealing that he has received good news regarding his injury.

It’s been a very stop-start season for Aston Villa, who haven’t managed more than one win in succession thus far.

Bruce’s side thumped Barnsley 3-0 at Oakwell this past weekend for what was their first away win and more performances like that would do no harm at all in regards to a playoff position.

The beauty about the Championship is that a good run of form could propel Villa – five points adrift of the top six, and seven behind the top two – right back into contention for promotion.

And getting Grealish back would be a big, big boost in that regard.
