Jack Grealish urged Trezeguet to ‘stay strong’ on Instagram after the Aston Villa player suffered a major injury blow.
On Monday, Aston Villa confirmed that their hard-working winger will miss the rest of the season and will require surgery after suffering knee ligament damage against Liverpool on Saturday.
As Trezeguet walked off the field at Anfield, he looked pretty distressed and was in tears, which was the early signs that things weren’t looking good for the versatile winger.
And now it seems as though he will spend a long time away from the field.
Grealish, who is currently sidelined with an injury of his own, wrote this message to the Egyptian speedster on his Instagram story:
‘Stay strong my brother we are all with you’.
It’s a crying shame for Trezeguet because his form was starting to pick up during a crucial period of the season.
Towards the back end of the last campaign, when Villa survived relegation by the skin of their teeth, Trezeguet was one of their standout performers.
And after his brace against Fulham last week, and his lively performance against Liverpool, it seemed as though things were beginning to pick up for him.
Hopefully, he can make a quick recovery and be back in the Claret & Blue colours in next to no time.
