John McGinn enhanced his reputation for Aston Villa this weekend.

John McGinn scored a ridiculous goal for Aston Villa on Saturday.
Dean Smith’s side continued their pre-season preparations with a 4-1 win at Charlton Athletic at The Valley.
The Aston Villa midfielder was on the scoresheet twice, but his second of the afternoon was something to behold.
McGinn harried the Addicks’ defence and won possession on the right wing, before riding a rash challenge in the box and taking the ball past Charlton’s keeper with a sublime bit of footwork and thumping home from a tight angle.
It was a prime example as to why the Scotland international is worth a reported £50 million [The Scotsman] and here’s how his team-mate and captain Jack Grealish reacted to the goal on Twitter:
What a season McGinn could have in the Premier League.
The former Hibernian star has never played in England’s top flight before and it’s fascinating to see how he’ll get on.
It’s one hell of a step-up from the Championship and ripping it out of Charlton, but he’s an outstanding midfielder and few Aston Villa fans would be surprised if he bossed it against bigger and better teams.
