Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish wasn’t fit enough to start for Dean Smith’s side last night.

Jack Grealish has praised his Aston Villa teammates, after they fired the club into the quarter finals of the League Cup last night.
Villa picked up a 2-1 victory over Wolves at Villa Park yesterday, despite Dean Smith naming a much changed line-up contest for the fixture.
Grealish was not fit enough to feature for Villa after picking up an injury against Manchester City last weekend.
But the playmaker was an interested spectator as Villa’s fringe players got their chance to impress.
And Grealish was delighted with his teammates, who have put Villa into the last eight of the cup competition.
Grealish should be fit in time to play for Villa in the next round of the League Cup, although whether Smith will start naming full strength teams in the competition now remains to be seen.
The claret and blues have so far used the cup as an opportunity to play some of their back-up players, to ensure that they have received game time.
Villa scored their goals last night through Anwar El-Ghazi and Ahmed Elmohamady, as they beat a Wolves team, who also had a lot of fringe players in their starting line-up.
Villa will find out who they will play in the quarter-final later this morning, when the draw for the next round is made.
