Steve Bruce has left Newcastle United and while fans may be rejoicing, on Magpies player had a slightly different reaction.
Indeed, Allan Saint-Maximin sent a message to his former manager on social media and he had some touching words for Bruce.
Regardless of the stories we’ve all read about Bruce not getting on with his players, it seems as though the gaffer had a great relationship with Saint-Maximin.
Interestingly, Saint-Maximin wasn’t Bruce’s only former player to pay tribute to the 60-year-old on social media on Wednesday.
Jack Grealish, who was one of Bruce’s main men during his time at Aston Villa, responded to Saint-Maximin’s tweet and it seems as though he agrees with the Frenchman’s sentiment.
Grealish and Saint-Maximin are seemingly both big fans of Bruce, and while the former Magpies boss wasn’t the best manager Newcastle ever had, it seems as though he was decent when it comes to man-management.
Grealish and Saint-Maximin are undoubtedly two of the best players and the biggest characters Bruce had ever managed and it seems as though he had a lasting impact on both players.
It begs the question, how would Bruce have gotten on if he was allowed to lead Newcastle into this new era? He’s clearly quite good at man-managing top players, so perhaps he could have gotten a tune out of some of the big names Newcastle could now go on to sign.
