Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish is finally being given the run of games he has been craving.
Grealish has been given a consistent run of games at Villa Park since Steve Bruce took charge.
However, it has not always been that way for the youngster, with other managers showing a lack of faith in his ability.
Grealish has had to prove himself to a number of different mangers, and the academy graduate has suggested that he feels Bruce is one of the few managers who have trusted him.
“I’ll be honest, in my career I feel like I haven’t been given enough runs of games. I’d play one decent game and then chucked out the team,” he said.
“I’ve also had eight managers in four years, if you include [England under-21s head coach] Aidy Boothroyd and Shaun Derry during my loan at Notts County. That’s ridiculous really. It’s not an excuse but it does affect you. I think only three managers have trusted me, [Tim] Sherwood, [Roberto] Di Matteo and Bruce.
“It’s been my best season and I’ve been the most consistent. People think I’m a No 10 but my favourite position is playing on the left of a three.”
Grealish is having to make up for lost time this season, as he missed much of the early campaign with injury.
Since making it off the treatment table, the attacking midfielder has become one of Villa’s key creative influences.
Grealish has played 23 times for the claret and blues across all competitions, and has claimed six assists.
Grealish and Villa will next be in action after the international break, when they take on Hull City.
