Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish has sent a tongue-in-cheek Twitter reply calling out the Premier League club for not including him in a roster of Villa legends from which fans can assemble a five-a-side team.

The club’s Tuesday Thoughts tweet this week gave the Claret and Blue faithful the chance to put together a team from a selection of players grouped together by value, with the top tier featuring “£14m” players, then “£12m”, “£10m”, “£8m” and finally “£6m”.

Such a post would have been likely to get a myriad of different answers and potential disputes over the values of each player, but on the whole the responses were straightforward, though a couple did think the club missed out on a novel way to announce Trezeguet.

However, Grealish sent a response jokingly feigning offence at not being included in the roster of Villa legends:

To which virtually all Villans said pretty much the same thing:

Grealish, along with the rest of the Villa team, is gearing up for the historic club’s first season back in the top flight since 2016, playing a crucial role last term as his return from injury and being handed the captain’s armband proved the catalyst for the team’s superb surge up into the Championship’s top six and subsequent playoff triumph.
