According to The Sun, Liverpool are rivalling Tottenham Hotspur for Jack Grealish – but the youngster should still pick Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Liverpool are supposedly trying to hijack Tottenham’s move for Grealish, who has been made one of Pochettino’s top targets.

The potential switch to Anfield is sure to tempt Grealish, given the stature of Liverpool.

But a move to Tottenham would arguably be better for his development.

Jurgen Klopp and Pochettino both have excellent track records of developing young players, but since moving to the Premier League the Argentine has put more of his faith in youth.

At Tottenham there would be a clear pathway into their starting line-up too.

Liverpool already have an attack lined with quality, with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all unlikely to be replaced.

Tottenham also have a settled attack, but Pochettino has shown more willingness to rotate his team.

Grealish could also take Dele Alli’s place in Tottenham’s line up, with the latter playing a deeper role, which many have suggested may be his long-term position.

And even though Liverpool are said to be keen on Grealish, Spurs are the better choice for the Aston Villa man, if he does move on.
