Aston Villa playmaker Grealish was linked with a move to Tottenham this summer.

Jack Grealish was the subject of reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur throughout the summer but has remained at Aston Villa – and has now said that an ex-Spurs star is his favourite player “on the planet”.
Grealish, 22, was the subject of a reported £25million offer from Spurs on deadline day but Villa rejected the move from Mauricio Pochettino’s side, as Spurs failed to make a single signing this summer.
It was believed that Grealish wanted to join the north Londoners, but it now looks as though the England youth international is to remain in the Midlands and could even sign a new contract.
Watching Real Madrid’s Super Cup loss to Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night, Grealish claimed that former Tottenham star Luka Modric is his “favourite player on the planet” on his Instagram story.

Modric, 32, has been linked with a move to Inter Milan from Real Madrid, where he has clocked up a huge 258 appearances and won four Champions League medals since leaving Spurs in 2012.
Spurs are next in action against newly-promoted Fulham on Saturday, as they look to make it two from two after beating Newcastle United 2-1 at St. James’ Park on Saturday.
