Jack Grealish has been quoted by ITV’s International Football Highlights Show as heaping praise on reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham. The Dortmund midfielder sparkled as a no.10 for England on Tuesday night.

Bellingham, 18, has starred for Dortmund since swapping Birmingham City for the German club in the summer of 2020. In his first season, he clocked up 46 appearances – scoring four goals and laying on four assists.

But this season, his form has progressed further – having a hand in 19 goals during just 37 games; scoring six and creating 13. Such form has made him a regular at England level, with Tuesday night’s win his 12th England cap.

Little surprise, that Liverpool are among those interested. German newspaper Bild reported this week that Jurgen Klopp wants an £84.5million deal for the Dortmund ace. Manchester City’s Grealish was full of praise.

“I think he could play anywhere, honestly. He could play as a six, an eight or as a 10, he’s that good. I’ve watched a few of his games for Dortmund, he’s been brilliant in every position. I think that just shows how talented he is.”

Grealish on Bellingham: He would be a wonderful signing for Liverpool

Yes, the price tag is enormous. But his performance for England against the Ivory Coast – a 3-0 win thanks to goals from Ollie Watkins, Raheem Sterling and Tyrone Mings – is proof that he is worth every penny.

Roy Keane spoke after the match, stating Bellingham looked as though he had already played 60 caps for England. The maturity of his performances at just 18 is astounding. He would give Liverpool an option for 15 years.
