Jack Grealish has taken to Twitter to comment on an incident involving Erling Braut Håland after Manchester City’s 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.
After Pep Guardiola’s side beat the Germans in Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final tie at the Etihad Stadium, a linesman caused a discussion.
Octavian Sovre – who ran the line during the game – asked Håland to autograph his cards in the tunnel after full-time.
It caused a bit of a stir on social media, with some feeling that Sovre acted unprofessionally.
However, as the Evening Standard covered, the Romanian was actually getting Håland’s signature so he could auction it off for charity.
After learning this news, Grealish commented on Twitter.
We couldn’t agree more with the Aston Villa captain.

Even if Sovre did it for his own personal gain, what’s the issue?
It was at full-time, the game had ended, and the Norway international is one of the hottest footballers on the planet right now.
If we were officiating in the game, we probably would’ve done the same!

It was unfair of people to jump straight on Sovre without knowing his intentions.
He could’ve been getting Håland’s autograph for a sick child, or for his own children, or for a good cause – the latter point eventually turning out to be the truth.
It just goes to show that you shouldn’t judge until you know the whole story.
