Aston Villa attacking midfielder Jack Grealish mentioning Philippe Coutinho in an interview with BT Sports has got some Liverpool fans on Twitter excited.

Grealish, who can also operate as a winger, is one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and is a key figure at Villa.

According to WhoScored, the 25-year-old has scored six goals and provided 10 assists in 20 Premier League appearances for the Villans so far this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the attacking midfielder scored eight goals and gave six assists in 36 league games for the Villans, according to WhoScored.

In an interview with BT Sports, Grealish mentioned former Liverpool star Coutinho – now at Barcelona – among the players he watches videos of to improve his final ball.

Grealish told BT Sports: “I watched videos of the likes of De Bruyne and all these playmakers, you know, around the world, like Coutinho, clips from him when he was at Liverpool, and it was always that final ball that was perfect, and that’s what I have tried to do this year.”

Villa are having a wonderful season and find themselves ninth in the Premier League table with 32 points from 20 matches, eight points behind fourth-placed and defending English champions Liverpool, who have played 22 games.

Some Liverpool fans are excited at the comments from Grealish and have urged the club to sign him.

Below are some of the best comments:

Grealish has been superb for Villa, who are unlikely to entertain any offers for him in the summer of 2021.

The Villans could end up in the top four of the Premier League table this season, and it is hard to see the England international want to move away from Villa Park with Champions League football.

Liverpool do have a very potent attacking unit already, and with Diogo Jota to come back from injury, manager Jurgen Klopp may not have any need for Grealish – who is a boyhood Villa fan – at least not next season.
