Jack Grealish has hailed Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold after his display against Tottenham Hotspur last night.
Alexander-Arnold has come in for some fierce criticism at Liverpool this season, with the right-back’s form dipping below his usual standards.
However, Alexander-Arnold gave a reminder of his qualities during Liverpool’s 3-1 win last night.
The 22-year-old, who is on a £40,000-a-week contract (Spotrac), scored Liverpool’s second goal with a fine finish, and also set up Sadio Mane, who scored the third.
And Grealish applauded the Liverpool right-back’s display on social media website Instagram.
He wrote: ‘Man like Trentyy’ with an applause emoji also included.
Grealish was not the only player to hail Alexander-Arnold on Instagram after last night.
Kostas Tsimikas, Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones also added their praise for him in the comment section under Alexander-Arnold’s latest post.
Alexander-Arnold will now hope to maintain the standards he set last night over the remainder of the season, after enduring what has arguably been the toughest spell of his career so far this campaign.
