Villa have climbed up to 14th place in the Championship table, and Grealish and Gardner were delighted with their side’s progress.
Villa had gone behind against Blackburn when Sam Gallagher gave the visitors an unexpected lead.
However, the Southampton loanee’s strike appeared to wake Villa up from their slumber and they were quickly back on level terms.
Bruce’s side got their first from the penalty spot, before Kodjia completed the comeback with a well placed finish.
Villa are next in action in two weeks’ time, when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion.
