Aston Villa drew for the third time in their last four Championship games as they drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest on Sunday afternoon.
Roberto Di Matteo was able to hand a debut to new striker Jonathan Kodjia, but it was Forest who took the lead as Apostolos Vellios crashed home a stunning long-range strike.

Villa did hit back though as Ross McCormack slotted home an equaliser, before Rudy Gestede quickly pounced with an acrobatic finish to draw Villa level.
It looked like Villa were heading towards just a second win of the season, but they again conceded a late goal as Henri Lansbury finished off a smart move to draw Forest level, before Philippe Montanier’s side held out for a point even after Hildeberto Pereira was sent off.

Conceding late on again will be a blow for manager Di Matteo, and some of his players took to Twitter after the game to give their views on the draw.
Winger Jack Grealish admitted he was ‘gutted’ with the result, and simply couldn’t believe that they didn’t win the game, whilst praising the club’s supporters and looking ahead to Wednesday’s clash with Brentford.
