The Newcastle United midfielder has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace

Roy Hodgson has helped to improve matters at Crystal Palace since being appointed as manager, with the club currently in 14th place in the Premier League.
However, it is clear that there is still much work for Palace to do if they are to succeed in retaining their top flight status.

Palace’s activity in this month’s transfer window could be very important in terms of determining whether or not they stay up, and one player who has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park is Newcastle United midfielder Jack Colback, as reported by The Mirror (Transfer live blog, 09:37, Sunday, January 7, 2018).
Colback hasn’t played a senior game for Newcastle all season after being frozen out by the club, but the 28-year-old still possesses a considerable amount of Premier League experience and would be a useful asset for Palace in their quest to avoid relegation.

Excellent at retaining possession by playing short, snappy passes, Colback is definitely a player that Palace should consider signing and if the deal did go ahead then he would provide them with a very useful additional midfield option.
Given his situation at Newcastle, Colback is likely to be available for a small fee and bringing him in could prove to be an inspired move by Palace.
