Jack Colback says he will decide his future in 2018 summer

Jack Colback joined Nottingham Forest on loan from Newcastle United in the January transfer window.

Newcastle United-owned Nottingham Forest midfielder Jack Colback has been quoted as saying by ChronicleLive that he will make a decision on his future in the summer of 2018.

Colback joined Championship club Forest on loan from Premier League outfit Newcastle in the January transfer window.

The 28-year-old midfielder struggled for playing time at the Magpies in the first half of the season, but the former Sunderland star has been a regular for the Reds so far this season.

The former England Under-20 international, who joined Newcastle in the summer of 2014 on a free transfer after leaving Sunderland at the end of the 2013-14 season, has stated that he will make a decision on his future only in the summer of 2018, although he is pleased to be playing regularly for Forest at the moment.

“I have not had too many more thoughts about that yet, no,” ChronicleLive quotes Colback as saying about his future. “Not yet.

“I am just hoping to play games, to play as many games as I can and do well for the club. Then I will have a look at my future in the summer. We will see what happens. I have enjoyed it.”

Permanent Nottingham Forest deal?

Colback does not seem to have a future at Newcastle. After all, it was clear that manager Rafael Benitez did not fancy him, which is why he was allowed to leave in the January transfer window in the first place.

Given that the Englishman is playing regularly for Forest at the moment and is doing well, it would make sense for him to try to secure a permanent move to the City Ground.

Forest have a brilliant manager in Aitor Karanka, who could make the Reds playoffs contenders in the Championship next season.
