Jack Clarke will stay at Leeds United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur next season.

Tottenham Hotspur summer signing Jack Clarke has revealed to The Yorkshire Evening Post that he was always going to leave Leeds United.

Clarke signed a permanent contract with Tottenham earlier in the summer transfer window, but the winger will stay at Leeds on loan for the 2019-20 campaign.

According to BBC Sport, Premier League club Spurs paid Championship outfit Leeds £10 million as transfer fee for the 18-year-old, who can also operate as a forward.

Clarke has revealed that it was always the plan for him to leave Leeds eventually.

Clarke told The Yorkshire Evening Post: “It’s been probably the biggest moment of my career so far. Making the decision to step away from the club after so long but it’s something I feel that was right for me and I was ready for it.

“Obviously there was always a plan to move on from Leeds eventually but I’d have much preferred it if we’d have gone up last year.”

Stay on loan at Leeds United

Clarke made four starts and 20 substitute appearances in the Championship for Leeds last season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process, according to WhoScored.

The teenager did well when he was called into action, and the winger can only get better working under head coach Marcelo Bielsa next season.

Keeping Clarke on loan for next season is a brilliant move from Leeds, as they need a big squad to challenge for automatic promotion to the Premier League.
