Leeds United’s supporters have produced a song dedicated to Derby County boss Frank Lampard.
Jack Clarke has liked a tweet showing a video of the Leeds supporters belting out their song for Derby boss Frank Lampard during the first-leg of their Championship semi-final against the Rams.
The game at Pride Park provided no shortage of talking points. Leeds have the advantage heading into the second-leg on Wednesday with Kemar Roofe scoring the decisive goal in the early stages of the second-half.
Some Leeds fans felt that Fikayo Tomori and Tom Huddlestone were both lucky to stay on the pitch, while Derby supporters had a similar feeling about Mateusz Klich following a second-half incident.
But the visiting fans also provided one of the defining moments themselves, as they unveiled a song for Lampard to the tune of Oasis’ Stop Crying Your Heart Out’.
The song, ‘Stop Crying Frank Lampard’, makes reference to Spygate as well as the fact that Leeds have beaten Derby every time that they have played them this season.
The song may backfire, of course, if Derby overturn the deficit during the second-leg. But Leeds have every reason to be confident after a superb performance at the weekend that would have banished a lot of the disappointment following how the regular season ended.
