Jack Clarke has handed Leeds United a boost by signing a new contract with the Whites on his 17th birthday.

Clarke is arguably one of the brightest prospects coming through at Thorp Arch at the moment, featuring regularly for the under 18 and under 23 sides this season and catching the eye with a number of fine displays.

Leeds have confirmed on their official website that the 17-year-old was attracting plenty of attention from other clubs, but he has handed the Championship side a major boost by putting pen to paper on a new deal that is set to keep him with the club until 2021.
And after signing his new deal, Clarke explained why interest from other clubs did not put him off signing his new contract.

With the contract set to run for a number of years and with interest coming from other clubs, it is clear that Clarke looks set for a very bright future, and that should provide the Whites with a boost.
He becomes the latest bright youngster to commit his future to the club, meaning that Leeds have a number of talented prospects looking to push the first-team in the coming years.
And that should not only help the first-team thrive, but it should also boost the club’s academy even further as young players attached elsewhere will see the talent that Leeds are producing and see that the path to the first-team is there and realise that an Elland Road switch could be a brilliant move for their careers.
