Joshua Rae has confirmed that he is leaving Leeds United this summer, and Jack Clarke and Ryan Edmondson have responded to the goalkeeper.
Jack Clarke and Ryan Edmondson have joined a number of Leeds fans in messaging Joshua Rae after the goalkeeper announced on Twitter that his time at Leeds has come to an end after two years with the Whites.
The Scotsman initially moved to Thorp Arch after leaving Celtic in 2017 and predominately played most of his football for the under-18s, but he certainly had one display that Leeds fans will not forget in a hurry.
Rae was probably only expecting to enjoy the experience when he was named on the bench for the under-23s’ Premier League Cup tie with Fulham. But Harrison Male’s red card at the start of the second-half meant that Rae had to make his debut.
He made a number of stops during the rest of the 90 minutes and into extra-time, and then made himself the hero as saved a penalty in the shootout as Leeds managed to book their place in the next round.
It was the kind of performance that suggested that Leeds may have a special talent on their hands given that he is younger than a lot of the players within Carlos Corberan’s ranks.
But unfortunately for Rae, it appears that his future lies elsewhere. The goalkeeper took to social media to thank Leeds for his chance and express his excitement for what is come during his career.
