Jack Clarke and Jamie Shackleton have both sent Liam Kitching a message on Twitter after the Leeds-owned youngster scored for Harrogate Town in their 3-1 win over Leamington on Saturday.

Kitching left Elland Road during the January transfer window, joining the National League North side on loan for a month, and he marked his sixth appearance for the club by scoring their second goal in the victory – two minutes after the home side had initially equalised.

The win leaves Harrogate well clear in second, just two points off current league leaders Salford City and may prove a great way for Kitching to sign off if it does prove to be his last appearance for the club before his return to the Whites.

And after the goal, two of his Leeds academy teammates took to social media to congratulate the 18-year-old on his goalscoring impact out on loan.

Here is what Clarke and Shackleton had to say to Kitching…

Kitching will be hoping that his loan spell gives his first-team prospects a slight boost. The teenager made the bench for the FA Cup clash clash with Newport County and has enjoyed a decent season with the under-23s.

And with Paul Heckingbottom showing during his time with Barnsley that he is not afraid to hand young players a chance if the situation requires it, Kitching will definitely be looking to build upon his promising time away from Thorp Arch in the hope that he can get another chance to push for a spot in the senior side.
