Jack Baldwin could turn into a real bargain at Sunderland, if he continues to keep up his impressive form.

Sunderland paid £250,000 for Baldwin this summer, as reported by the Chronicle, and he is already looking like a considerably more expensive player than that.

Baldwin has been rock solid at the heart of Sunderland’s defence since being brought in, and his passing ability has been key for Jack Ross’ side.

The former Hartlepool man was in impressive form, as Sunderland picked up a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United at the weekend.

And if Baldwin keeps performing to his current standard, then he could turn into a brilliant bargain buy for Sunderland.

It is always worth analysing Baldwin with caution, as he did show an error prone streak at Posh, in between some excellent games.

But if Baldwin can prove that he has got rid of those regular mishaps once and for all, then Sunderland have brought in one of the best defenders in League One very cheaply.
