Reading manager Jaap Stam has suggested to Get Reading that he is not bothered by the reception he will get from the Leeds United fans today.

The Royals will return to action this afternoon when they take on Leeds away from home at Elland Road in the Championship.

As reported by Get Reading, Stam criticised the Whites following the 2-0 win at Elland Road in the Championship last season.

Leeds fans are going to be hostile towards the former Manchester United centre-back this afternoon, but the 45-year-old does not seem to be too concerned.

“It’s not about what reception I get,” Stam told Get Reading. “I don’t mind if people are against me, as long as the team performs. It’s not about me, it’s about the teams on the pitch and hopefully we can get a result.”

Reading surprised everyone last season by finishing in the top six of the Championship, but things are not going so well at the moment.

The Royals are struggling for points and for results at the moment, and it is hard to imagine them pick up all three points against Leeds this afternoon.

Although Thomas Christiansen’s side have lost their last two league fixtures, they should have enough to get the better of Reading at Elland Road.
