J Balvin has dismissed concerns that language will prevent fans from enjoying Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show.

The Colombian artist addressed the issue ahead of Super Bowl LX, where Bad Bunny is set to headline the halftime performance.

Balvin said music connects through energy rather than translation.

J Balvin says Spanish lyrics will not limit fan connection

J Balvin spoke about language concerns while discussing Bad Bunny’s upcoming halftime show. He explained that his own relationship with music developed long before he understood every lyric.

He added that fans should approach Bad Bunny’s performance in the same way, focusing more on the energy and vibes Bunny’s music brings.

“I learned and grew up listening to hip hop. I didn’t know what they were saying. I would just vibe with it. They just gotta jump on the flavor, that’s all they gotta do.”

With Bad Bunny set to become the first native Spanish speaker to headline the Super Bowl halftime show, Balvin framed the moment as a cultural milestone rather than a language test.

Balvin also pushed back on criticism that has focused on language rather than performance. When asked about people questioning whether Spanish would resonate on the Super Bowl stage, he was blunt.

Balvin said, “That’s followers.”

He also voiced full support for Bad Bunny’s set and made it clear he has no preference over song selection.

Asked what he wants to hear during the halftime show, Balvin replied, “All of them. That’s my man.”

J Balvin and Bad Bunny have collaborated numerous times together, forming a close friendship while working on music together.

There are rumours that J Balvin will be one of the surprise guests that Bad Bunny will bring out during his performance, especially as Balvin is in town and took part in the NFL’s Celebrity Flag Football game as a captain.
