Izzy Brown, Stuart Dallas and Sorba Thomas were just some of the players to react on Instagram to Leeds United’s Tyler Roberts confirming that he will be out for the rest of the season.
The Leeds forward posted that he has suffered a ‘big blow’ after having surgery on a hamstring injury he suffered at Leicester City over the weekend.
Ex-Leeds man Brown posted ‘love you brother’ to the news, whilst Stuart Dallas added ‘we are all with you’ and Huddersfield’s Thomas told him ‘come back stronger bro’.
Even though Roberts hasn’t been at his best this season, it doesn’t help Leeds’ cause that another player is on the sidelines.
During these final months of the season, Jesse Marsch is going to need every single player possible in their quest to survive.
But, the Yorkshire side have to take the positives and that’s the fact that Patrick Bamford was back on the bench during their defeat at Leicester.
Plus, Kalvin Phillips is also nearing a return and the sooner they are back on the pitch, the better chance they have of survival.
As for Roberts, it’s going to be interesting to see what happens with his future in the summer because he has less than 18 months left on his current deal.
The Welshman either signs a new deal or he might just head for the Elland Road exit door.
In truth, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the 23-year-old does leave because he isn’t a regular at Leeds.
