Izzy Brown is yet to appear for Leeds United since arriving on loan in the summer, but is working his way back to full fitness.

There is plenty of anticipation surrounding Brown’s situation at Elland Road. He arrived on loan from Chelsea in the summer, but it was known that he was not going to feature for several months due to an ACL injury he sustained last season.
He recently made his first appearance for the under-23 side and the Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Leeds are hoping that Brown will come through the full 90 minutes for Carlos Corberan’s men when they face Sheffield United on Monday.
From there, Brown – if he comes through unscathed – is expected to move into contention to feature for Marcelo Bielsa’s squad. But the 21-year-old conceded that he would happily be kept on the sidelines for a little longer.

“I’ve been training in the number 10 roles and I like playing in that role because you get a lot of the ball and you get space to run with it,” Brown said, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post. “It’s what I think I can do best but I know there are great players in that position. There are great players everywhere so I’m willing to bide my time.
“I’m not in a rush to force my way in. Hopefully we keep winning games and it keeps me out of the side. I want to play but the team is more important.”
It is not going to be easy for Brown to force his way into Bielsa’s plans. The Leeds boss has shown a lot of loyalty to the squad he begun the season with and has tended to only make changes when forced to due to injuries and suspensions.

Samuel Saiz has not enjoyed the best spell, but Mateusz Klich has been excellent throughout the campaign, and forcing his way ahead of the Poland international is going to be an extremely tough task for the Chelsea loanee.
But Brown showed before his injury that he has the quality to make an impact. And it turns out that it may not be too long before he gets the chance to prove why Leeds put their faith in the youngster in the summer.
