Akpom has found his route into Wenger’s plans to be slightly more obstructed thank Iwobi’s, but when he has been given the chance, he has showcased his impressive array of skills.
Iwobi discussed Arsenal’s youth setup, and highlighted Akpom as the next youth team prospect to make the breakthrough into the senior setup, as quoted by the Metro:

“You never know who will come through, but I would say Chuba Akpom will be the next to join [the first-team]”
Arsene Wenger has had to endure criticism in recent years for failing to bring through genuine talent from the youth setup to the senior squad, choosing instead to strengthen his side with multiple acquisitions from foreign shores.
With the new home-grown players rule, however, it is vitally important for the Premier League’s top sides to invest heavily into their academies, in the hope of turning out world-class stars of the future.
With the likes of Iwobi now gracing the Emirates on a regular basis though, the future looks bright for Arsenal.
