Aberdeen star Lewis Ferguson is aware of reports linking him with a move to Rangers but the newly-crowned Young Player of the Year is fully focused on his career at Pittodrie right now, he tells the Daily Record.
The son of Derek and the nephew of Barry, Ferguson has blue blood running through his veins.
And barely a month goes by without the young midfielder being tipped to embark upon a family tradition at Glasgow.
According to the Scottish Sun, Steven Gerrard has made the Dons dynamo one of his top summer targets and with good reason.
An all-action enforcer who produced nine assists for Aberdeen during the 2019/20 season, Ferguson was rewarded with the Scottish Football Writer’s Young Player of the Year award on Thursday.
And, at the age of 20, he is only going to get better and better in the years to come.
Whether those years will be spent at Ibrox, however, remains to be seen.
“I’ve just seen it (Rangers’ link) the same way as everybody else. I’m not really aware of anything like that. I don’t read too much into that,” Ferguson says.

“I’ve obviously been shown it on social media and stuff. I just take it in my stride. I’m just focused on getting back training for Aberdeen.”
The Scotland U21 international is understandably keen to play things down at the moment but the chance to pull on the iconic navy shirt of Rangers could be too good to turn down for a man who shares a surname with legendary Ibrox captain Barry Ferguson.
He shot to fame with a late winner as Aberdeen beat The Gers in the Scottish League Cup semi-final in October 2018.
But if Gerrard gets his way, Ferguson will be scoring for Rangers rather than against them next season.
