Paul Merson has stated that Arsenal still have a chance to finish in the top four this season, as he told Sportskeeda.

The Sky pundit stated that he has said ‘since the start’ that if Arsenal can keep their players fit, then Champions League football can return to North London.

Arsenal are sitting one place outside of those top-four places, at the moment, as a big few weeks await them in the Premier League.

It all starts at the weekend when they travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in a mouthwatering tie.

If Mikel Arteta can guide his players to all three points then, not only will they move into the top four, but also above the Merseyside club.

And this is what Merson briefly stated regarding that matter.

“I’ve said since the start of the season that if Arsenal keep their starting XI fit, they can get top four,” said Merson.

After three Premier League games this season, when Arsenal were sitting bottom, with zero points and zero goals, many were expecting Arteta to get the sack.

Whilst he hasn’t turned anything around, he is starting to showcase a platform that the club can build on to move forward.

Previously, many have mocked the ‘trust the process’ comments from fans, but that light is starting to showcase itself.

But, of course, when it comes to Arsenal, one defeat takes the mood around the place from one end of the extreme to the other.
