‘I’ve said many, many times’: Andy Cole waxes-lyrical about 2015 Tottenham signing

Andy Cole has waxed-lyrical about Heung-Min Son on TalkSport’s Sunday Session (20/09/20 at 2:25 pm) after he scored four goals for Tottenham against Southampton.

Remarkably all four of Son’s goals were assisted by Harry Kane and ex-Manchester United hitman, Cole, thinks the 2015 Spurs signing is ‘as important’ as the England captain.

It was a much-needed win and performance from Spurs because only last week a different picture was being painted in North London and it wasn’t looking pleasant.

Following yesterday’s devastating performance, Cole shared that he has made it clear ‘many, many times’ how much he appreciates the versatile attacker.

“I have said many, many times, I like him,” Cole told talkSPORT. “I love his work rate. His creativity and getting goals.

“Getting four, all of his finishes were class finishes. He never gets fazed. He finishes them off. Comes away with four goals.

“But not just that. I have said previously, his work rate as well and what he gives Tottenham. I was saying off-air that I think he’s just as important as Harry Kane. I really do. For what he gives Spurs. Goals. Creativity. Work rate. Everything rolled into one. He is a massive player for Spurs.”

Son’s performance at St Mary’s would have got the taste buds tingling for Spurs fans because there is another spice they are yet to add to their attacking mixture – Gareth Bale.

If all three can be on the field at the same time, stay out of the injury room then Mourinho will have a seriously devastating front three on his hands.

In the meantime, Kane’s vision, ability to pick the ball up in space and pass with precision will be a lethal combination with Son’s ability to peel off defenders with speed and then score with whichever foot he desires.
