Andy Gray has stated that he has ‘not heard’ the Leeds fans boo their team off at half-time before, as they did during their 4-0 defeat to Tottenham on Saturday, as he told beIN SPORTS.
It was another game to forget for the Elland Road faithful as they conceded 3+ goals for the fifth game running.
At half-time of yesterday’s Premier League encounter, the Whites were 3-0 down and the home fans made their feelings clear to the team by booing them off.
Whilst Marcelo Bielsa’s side should have got on the scoresheet because they had enough chances, just like previous games, they were probably lucky they only conceded four.
Repeating the same stuff again and again but expecting the same results could be a sign of madness, as ex-striker Gray touched upon.
“I’ve not heard them do that before, boo the team at half-time,” said Gray.
“As soon as the whistle went, you could hear it. It was short, but it was there.
On conceding 3+ in the last five games: “I don’t get it. I know I haven’t coached at that level as Bielsa has done and is doing.
“But if you keep repeating the same things and expecting a different outcome, it’s not going to happen. This is another example.”
As the dust is settling on another unforgettable day for Leeds, it may have been the last for Bielsa.
Several reports are emerging that the man that guided Leeds back to the promised land has left the Yorkshire outfit by mutual consent, as reported by the Guardian.
In truth, given the horrible run of results the club have been on, it’s no surprise.
But it will be a difficult pill to swallow for the fans because, on one hand, they will feel the right call is being made given their situation.
But on the other, given what Bielsa has done for the club, they will feel he probably deserved to see the season out.
